Description
This is a mural painted on an inverted pyramid ceiling inside of Metz Elementary. The outer edges of depicts outer space with a dark blue sky and several planets/moons. As the painting moves inward, the sky transitions into white fluffy clouds. In the center, the sky is a bright blue, and features four tableaus of adults interacting with children. First, a boy in a slue shirt, jeans, and tennis shoes, hands roses to an elderly woman in a red and yellow dress. Then, a young girl in a yellow shirt hands a basket of fruit to an older man wearing a white shirt with a pin with the United Farmworkers logo on it. Next, a women in a dark dress is picking up a baby with a diaper and only one sock. Lastly, a young girl with a pink shirt, pink bow, and ponytail is handing a ribbon that says “Metz Honor Roll” to a man in a white shirt. All of the people look to be Latinx. There are also three birds flying in the sky of the painting: a hummingbird, a white dove, and a red version of the bird in the United Farm Workers logo.
