As one can see, Metz was not orignially meant only for elementary-aged students; older children were permitted to attend to gain preliminary education in the early years of the school. Additionally, Metz has always been known for a degree of racial diversity, as is evidenced by the first picture's denotation of the school's class consisting of 24 different nationalities.
